The 13 Principles of wiccan

In 1974, the Union of American Witches decided to adopt the following principles to define Witchcraft and help its members to live more easily within the rules of society. These rules guide our lives today.
  • We practice rites to attune with the natural rhythm of life energy, marked the phases of the moon, the solstices and the equinoxes and the four directions of space.
  • We recognize that our intelligence gives us a clear responsibility towards the environment. We try to live in harmony with Nature, in ecological balance that carries the full life and consciousness in an evolutionary view.
  • recognize the existence of a power far greater than what the average person receives. Just because it exceeds the normal, is sometimes called "supernatural," but we know it is latent in us all.
  • We think that the Creative Power of the Universe as manifesting through polarity male and female, and that this Creative Power is present ft all individuals and act through the interaction of the male and female. We do not consider more than one polarity to another, knowing that they are complementary. We see sexuality as a joy, as the symbol and expression of life, and as one of the sources of energies used in magickal practice and religious worship.
  • recognize the existence of the outer and inner worlds, or psychological worlds - sometimes known as the Spiritual World, Collective Unconscious, inner planes, and so on - and the interaction between these two dimensions we see the basis for paranormal phenomena and magical activities . Do not neglect any size, Whereas both necessary for our fulfillment.
  • do not recognize any higher authority, but we respect the teacher, who shares with others his knowledge and wisdom above, as acknowledge those who courageously took on the task of driving.
  • We believe that religion, magic and wisdom of life define the way in which the individual perceives the world and lives in it - a worldview and a philosophy of life that we call witchcraft or Wicca.
  • described as "witch" does not mean to be, so as not to become a witch by inheritance, or in response to a series of securities, certificates and initiations. Witches seek to control the inner forces that enable to live wisely and well, without doing harm to others and in harmony with nature.
  • recognize that it is the affirmation and fulfillment of life in a continuity of evolution and development of consciousness, what gives meaning to the Universe we know and the individual role that it plays.
  • Our only criticism of Christianity or any other religion or philosophy of life is that these institutions have claimed to be the "only way", have denied freedom to others and have repressed other religious practices or faiths.
  • Witches do not feel threatened by studies on the history of Witchcraft, on the origins of various terms or the legality of various aspects of different traditions. We are interested only our present and our future.
  • not accept the concept of "absolute evil", and do not worship any entity similar to the Christian tradition calls "Satan" or "devil." Do not try to gain power through the suffering of others, and do not accept the idea that personal benefit can be derived only denial to another. We
  • in Nature that can contribute to our health and our well-being.
